Religion

Religion in our society, I think, governs too much. Too many people go by religion instead of our natural rights, and sometimes that can even lead to discrimination even though we might not think it does. We are suppose to have a separation of church and state, which means that there should be no religious influence in our laws, because our people have the right to do what they want with their lives and follow which ever religion they please. But this sometimes doesn’t go as it is suppose to, people think that we have a separation of church and state, but in reality we really don’t. Gay marriage is one of those things that are discriminated against because of religion, and it is not allowed in almost all of America because o religion, people say that it is immoral and wrong. But that is because their religion says so, and the state actually makes the people vote on this even though it shouldn’t even be a question because were suppose to have a separation of church and state, but since so many people are religious, it doesn’t get to happen because people vote against it, even though that is unfair, and because that is based 100% on religion, no matter what anyone tries to say.

Religion also affects people in other countries, like the girl who married the 60 year old, it creates a lot of commotion because many people disagree it, and our world shouldn’t be based on religion, but on what people want to do with their lives as long as it doesn’t affect anyone else. Because right now in our world, religion is effecting millions of people in a negative way. I'm not saying religion is bad; it’s actually a good thing because it gives guidance and hope, but it shouldn’t be forced onto other people. It is wrong to push your beliefs on someone, not even if your a 100% sure its the right thing, people have the right to think what they want so religion should not be forced on them in any way, shape, or form.

  1. We get our morality from law and religion so how can we not include it in our state. We, the people and the government are influenced and follow religion so how would we separate it? The people who created this country and what we follow were all religious based. At least other countries admit what they follow. Do we even have natural rights? We make up what rights we think are right and we think we have so are they natural? No, artificial right. Religion is like everything else, it has good and bad so doe it do more good or bad? That is the question.

I guess based on our principle gay marriage should be allowed to co-exist, I just don't agree with it because it goes against evolution. It wouldn't survive. It is a defect. Harsh realities, but it's all good.

  2. While I agree with you that religion is the cause for many of our world's problems it is also the source of many good deeds done in teh world. Different religious charities have done vast amounts of services for people in need. Groups like the Red Cross and the YMCA both started off as religious charities and now these groups help millions of people every day. Also religion helps people better themselves. The saying people use that "they found god" often refers to a bettering of character due to religion. While religious radicals make many people look down upon religion it can be very helpful to society.

  3. I agree with you but not 100% you say that religion shouldn’t be based with the law and when we vote it religion base, well you can’t take that away from people they have the right to vote however they want even if religion effects their decision or not. Yes you might say it’s bad but in the long run it’s good because t keeps a lot of people to do wrong. However there is such thing as being too religions to a put where anything that some one dose and is against the bible its evil and that were I agree with you that religion influence people.
