What better controversial topic to start off this new blog with then gay marriage. Many people are against this because they think that it’s a sin and against their religion or they think it’s just plain wrong. A couple of states allow it and many states are actually against. . .yea they actually choose what people can and cannot do when it comes to there love life, and people call this freedom?? Don’t get me wrong, im definitely not gay and I don’t really like them that much but they are entitled to their opinion and nobody should be allowed to take that away from them.Many people say that it is against their religion so it is wrong. . . well people need to grow up and realize that other people are living in this world and that they are entitled to do whatever they want with their lives. I am not a religious person at all, I don’t necessarily believe it because it’s a book, anyone can write a book, and for some reason they decided to say that gay marriage was wrong, but that is unfair. And to force those ideas on other is simply wrong. Gays have been suppressed for a long time but they shouldn’t be, its their own personally choice and people need to accept that because its wrong to hate someone because they like people of the same sex, and its definitely wrong to not allow them to get married to each other.
If a gay couple really like each other then they should have the privilege of getting married because marriage is about love, so I don’t see the problem. People can be very ignorant when it comes to this subject because they think it’s wrong so they don’t think it should be allowed. But what if one day someone said that straight marriage is wrong, then would we have to restrict that?? Well I think its wrong how gays are restricted. I don’t personally like them that much but they are entitled to do whatever they want with their lives and we do not have the right to tell them otherwise. People need to grow up and accept people for who they are and stop restricting them just because of their beliefs.

Are you trying to tell us something with this blog? I am not for nor against gay marriage, they should be able to do whatever they want. However it still doesn't make it right for two guys to kiss each other on the street in front of little kids. Gay marriage is obviously a bad thing because if everyone was gay then there would be no more children.
ReplyDeleteYou made a good arguement but I believe tommy's is better. You can't use the whole "if somebody told you straight marriage was wrong" arguement though. It's retarded, if there was no straight marriage there would be no people. And if you think well why not just have sex without gettin married? Well then you lose families which then destroys the very structure our society stands on. Which you should be able to see because this is already starting in America. So yes, you can say that gays have their right to get married because we live in a "free country" and that's your oppinion. BUT that doesn't mean people can do whatever the hell they want. This country is "free" but it was still built on rules. And whether you like them or not those rules were built off religous beliefs of great men in the past. So you either have to accept them or try to change them.

Ok first toomy's argument is really plain because not everyones gay and that would never happen, so i think the world will still be the same if gay marriage was aloud. Both of you are saying that i used the argument of what if straught marrige was wrong, but that was just to prove a point. Its not fair to take away peoples rights, and if to men kiss in front of little kiss, and i mean pop, not make-out because no one does that in the streets, then those kids arent going to become gay and they will eventually learn wat that was so i dont think it would be too bad. Sword guy, im not saing to take away rules but make them just, they have the same right as everyone else and should be treated as equals, and i really dont care if everything was built on religion, this is a new are, where you can believe what you want, and i dont think that anyone should be forcing their religious beliefs on anyone else.
ReplyDeleteTommy, your reply makes no sense because you state that your are neither for or against gay marriage, but later on state that gay marriages are a bad thing because , and I quote, " if everyone was gay there would be no children.". There are always possibilities, but that is just absurd. There is a zero percent chance that everyone in the world will turn gay. Gay people can love each other, spend time with each other, and even live with each other, but do they really have to get married? People claim that gay marriages should be permitted so that the couples are given benefits. Then, thats your problem; the solution is to make it possible to get the right to benefits without marriage.
